Do you really need a blog? Here’s why you do.

I often get asked, “Do I really need a blog?”… the answer? YES.

I truly believe that every business needs to have a blog in their niche product or service.

Here are the top 4 reasons why having a blog is essential:

1. Search Engine Optimisation

Having a blog with content optimised for search engines is an extremely powerful way of getting traffic. Remember, people coming from search engines are actively looking for content that is related to your products or services – so make sure it's relevant. Keep them happy, keep them on your website and in doing so, more likely to click around and see if your business and offering is for them.

2. Authenticity and credibility

A blog is also a great way to showcase your expertise within your industry. Providing insightful content that is helpful and valuable for your audience will not only attract them, but inspire them to learn more about your business. You will be seen as an ‘expert’ in that area… and who wouldn’t want to use or follow an expert?

3. Brand visibility

Having a blog will increase your brand awareness. Getting your content in front of an audience of potential customers is a very efficient strategy that may bring great results in the long run. Even if the reader doesn’t purchase from you then and there, it's one more ‘touch point’, allowing you to be front of mind when they do decide to pull the trigger on said product or service.

4. Connection

People have lots of questions, but have you noticed that ‘Frequently asked questions’ documents are becoming more obsolete? They are factual, yes, but are cold and don’t connect to your audience. Blogs can answer all the questions they have, while making their time on your website enjoyable, maybe even sparking a smile, but definitely building a relationship with them in the process.
